Report behaviour

General
If a player is behaving inappropriately and no admin is present, devplatform offers the option to report this behavior. The best course of action is to add the player to the ignore / block list. However, you might encounter players that behave particularly offensive or inappropriate according to the devplatform Code of Conduct. In cases such as these you might want to use the Report feature to report the player’s behaviour to the devplatform Support team.

Blocking a player
You can add a player to the block list by clicking the block button in the user info screen or by typing the following chatfunction in the chatbar: /block . By blocking a player you can no longer read this player’s chat, the specified player will not be able to enter games that you have created and will not be able to write a message in your guestbook.

Before you report
Before you report another player, you should first make sure that they are actually in breach of the Code of Conduct of devplatform. The Player Support team reviews all abuse reports so, if in doubt, submit a report.

If you decide to report another player, your report should contain evidence of the offensive act or rule-breaking. If your report does not contain evidence, we will not be able to take any action (against the player). You should submit your report as soon as the act takes place, and not discuss it with other players first. Please note that it is up to devplatform to determine if any actions will be taken against a reported player. We advise to block a player once you have sent a report to prevent further annoyances and irritations.

Finally, before you submit any kind of report, consider the following points:

1.If the chat filter has starred-out one or more words, you do not need to report the player that used the starred-out language.

2.Reporting other players who you know not to have committed an offence, either as a joke or as a way of deliberately inconveniencing them, is considered a misuse of the report abuse system, and may result in your account being penalised.

3.Provoking other players with offensive language or behaviour and then reporting them when they retaliate is considered a misuse of the report abuse system, and may result in your account (added account) being penalised. Our logs will clearly show what took place before the report was submitted, and who instigated the incident.

Submitting your report
To submit an abuse report, simply click on the Report button in the website menu or right click your mouse-button in the chat on the player you want to report. Then select the offense that correlates with that committed by the player. Again, please do not hesitate to add the player to your Block list as well when you are personally grieved by the inappropriate behavior.

Please do not submit more than one abuse report for each incident. We can get all the information we need from a single report. Submitting multiple reports simply slows down the process of reviewing your reports.

After you report
The devplatform helpdesk reviews all the submitted abuse reports, but not all abuse reports will result in an action being taken against the reported player. This may be because the Helpdesk team decides that the reported player is not in fact guilty of committing an offence, or because there was insufficient evidence in your report. Ultimately, the decision to penalize a player lies with devplatform, so please do not submit a second abuse report if no action is being taken after your first report. Decisions made by devplatform are not open for discussion.
